Meet Dr. Auston Eckert, a board-certified dermatologist who officially joins PNW Dermatology in October 2026 after serving our patients as a locum tenens physician for more than two years. Dr. Eckert earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and dermatology residency through the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. Dr. Eckert is a U.S. Army Medical Corps officer and previously served as Chief of Dermatology at Madigan Army Medical Center. Dr. Eckert is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and holds additional board certification in Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery. He is experienced in diagnosing and treating a broad range of skin conditions and providing specialized surgical care for skin cancer. He has contributed to numerous medical publications, presentations, and research projects throughout his career. and is committed to evidence-based medicine and providing attentive, individualized care to every patient.

Meet Dr. Andrew Pace Owner as well of PNW Dermatology. He is a highly skilled dermatologist and board-certified Mohs surgery specialist, who joined forces with his brother, Dr. Aaron Pace, in July of 2013. Education: Dr. Andrew Pace earned his medical degree from the University of Washington, School of Medicine, showcasing a commitment to academic excellence. Training: Following medical school, he completed his internship at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington, before embarking on his dermatology residency at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. Meet Ashley Carpenter , she is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner joining PNW Dermatology with a strong clinical background and a passion for providing thoughtful, patient-centered care. Ashley earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Frontier Nursing University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. She previously earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bellevue College, graduating magna cum laude. Prior to career with us, Ashley spent more than four years in progressive care nursing, caring for medically complex patients. Ashley has hands-on dermatologic experience performing skin biopsies and cryotherapy under preceptor supervision. She is an ANCC-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and is passionate about building strong relationships with her patients and providing evidence-based, individualized care.

Meet Donald Schoenefeld, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant with experience in dermatology, primary care, and military medicine. After serving as a Physician Assistant in the U.S. Army, he joined Pacific Northwest Dermatology, where he treats a wide range of skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea. Donald earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed advanced dermatology training through the Society of Dermatology Physician Associates Diplomate Fellowship Program.
